Mesothelioma Mesothelioma, a form of cancer, develops in the linings that protect certain organs. It is typically found in the lung linings or abdomen (peritoneum). Asbestos-related exposure causes an increased chance of developing mesothelioma. These include people who worked in asbestos-related jobs or lived near an asbestos mine or factory.
